Dr. Ansari pursued oral surgery because it combined the science and art of surgery, medicine, and dentistry to provide the best possible care for patients. He saw that it would allow him to maximize his strengths while improving people’s lives daily.

Study Dentistry?

Dr. Ansari completed his undergraduate degree in biochemistry and his graduate studies in neuroscience at the University of Calgary in 2014. He then earned his Doctorate in Dental Medicine and graduated in the top 10% of his class from the University of Pittsburgh in 2018. He received multiple awards for academic and clinical excellence as a student.

Following graduation, he began his rigorous four-year residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery in South Florida at Broward Health Medical Center and Nova Southeastern University. During this time, he was trained extensively in a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery skills, including in-office and hospital-based anesthesia, surgical extraction of teeth, simple and complex bone grafting, dental implant surgery, facial trauma surgery, management of both benign and malignant oral pathology, oral and maxillofacial reconstruction, and orthognathic surgery. He was eventually awarded his specialty certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and served as the chief resident during his final year of training.

Like to Do?

Dr. Ansari and his wife live in Vienna, VA. His wife is a physician who also serves patients in the Northern Virginia and DC area. Outside of work, he likes to go on hikes, watch various sports (soccer, football, and Formula One), and challenge his friends on the racquetball court. He is an avid fish keeper and can never have enough aquariums! He loves traveling the world and some of his recent memorable experiences include visiting Italy and Costa Rica.
