Dr. Amro Shihabi provides exceptional care to patients at Northern Virginia Oral, Maxillofacial & Implant Surgery, which has locations in Burke, Reston, and Alexandria, Virginia. He is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He’s also a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society and a winner of multiple awards, including the University of Pennsylvania International Dentist Award. Dr. Shihabi earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania. He received his medical degree from Louisiana State University (LSU), where he got to complete a general surgery internship at their Health Science Center. He then trained in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center, University of Maryland School of Dentistry, and the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. He completed postgraduate training in maxillofacial oncology and microvascular reconstruction at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

Dr. Shihabi worked at Christiana Health in Newark, Delaware as the Director of Training in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Section Chief of head and neck oncology and microvascular reconstruction. He was the vice president of the Patuxent Dental Society and the secretary and treasurer of the Maryland Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Currently, he is a clinical instructor at the Washington Hospital Center in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

When he’s not working, Dr. Shihabi enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling with his family and two children. He has lectured nationally and internationally about oral and maxillofacial surgery and participates in yearly mission trips to bring care to impoverished communities.
